Backcountry Discovery Routes
BDR has a website available for everything you may need when heading out on one of their routes. They have maps, GPS tracks, gear, and a store on their website for merchandise. You are able to look at locations that give tours, training, bike rentals, and view Youtube videos. The website has articles you can read and the website updates you on current events.
BDR aims to inspire people to discover the backroads, create riding opportunities, advocate for adventure motorcyclists, educate the community on safety, and make an impact. You can read more about their mission on their website under ‘Our Mission.’
Backcountry Discovery Routes span throughout the United States. We were lucky enought to have them make their way through the PA Wilds! The trail that goes through the PA Wilds is broken up into four sections. There are also more sections you can add to your ride that are more difficult. The route is mostly made up of dirt and gravel roads. BDR is a nonprofit organization that creats off-highway gravel routes that you are able to use for adventure biking and dual-sport motorcycle travel.
